Tax list of Christian Springs of 1779. Joseph Levering was a single man at Christian Springs. Very likely he worked
together with William Henry and Frederick Steinman in a gunshop in Christian Springs. It was prpbably the former
(Johan or John) Christian Oerter shop.This shop was taken by William Henry Jr. when Oerter died in 1777. At least from 1782 to 1784 Levering lived and worked in Bethlehem where he paid taxes as a gunsmith. Kentucky Rifles and Pistols |
